WHO: MEN and WOMEN Master Players - ALL age groups O35 and above

If you were born in or before 1988, you are eligible to play Masters Hockey in 2023 and tryout for the USA Masters Outdoor Squads/Teams this year.

SQUADS/TEAMS: 2023 SQUAD players will practice throughout the year and will have the opportunity to be selected to represent the USA Masters TEAMS in competitions,     including the World Masters Hockey (WMH) Pan Am Continental Cup in Argentina, December 6-17, 2023.

The preliminary calendar consists of the following activities:

• 2023 -  Monthly practices
• April 29-30, 2023 - Beach Bash Tournament
• Summer 2023 - Shooting Star Tournament
• December 6-17, 2023 - Pan Am Continental Cup

CITIZENSHIP STATUS: There are no specific requirements to play USA Masters hockey domestically; tryouts, squad practices, Beach Bash and Shooting Stars are open to ALL. For WMH sanctioned international events (Pan-Am Continental Cup and World Cup events), WMH requires that a player must be "a national of that country or have been a resident of that country for a minimum of 12 months.”

USFHA MEMBERSHIP: You need to be an active member of USFHA to participate in     tryouts, practices, or compete at any of the events above.  To register for tryouts, you must have an active USAFH membership through the end of the Masters trials period (through April 3, 2023) regardless which weekend/site you are attending.

If your membership expires before April 3, 2023 or you do  not have a current membership, you will be required to renew/get a membership before signing up for the trials. If you are renewing your membership, the anniversary date will be the same as your prior membership, not the date of renewal, so you will not lose any days in your membership.

WHEN AND WHERE: Three tryout sessions are offered in three different locations, to help minimize travel for players. 

*PLEASE NOTE: Players can only attend ONE TRYOUT SITE, even if only available one     of the two days.

March 11-12, 2023 - Men and Women @ MAST Academy (Miami, FL)

• O35, 040, O45: Saturday 11am-2pm and Sunday 10am-12pm
• O50, O55, O60, O65: Saturday 8am-11am and Sunday 8am-10am

March 18-19, 2023 - Men and Women @ MG Sportsplex (Phoenix, AZ)

• O35, 040, O45: 3pm-6pm and Sunday 11am-1pm
• O50, O55, O60, O65: Saturday 12pm-3pm and Sunday 9am-11am

April 1-2, 2023 - Men @ The Proving Grounds (Conshohocken, PA)

• O35, 040, O45: Saturday 2pm-5pm and Sunday 10am-12pm
• O50, O55, O60, O65: Saturday 11am-2pm and Sunday 8am-10am

April 1-2, 2023 - Women @ Ursinus College (Collegeville, PA)

• O35, 040, O45: Saturday 4pm-7pm and Sunday 11am-1pm
• O50, O55, O60, O65: Saturday 1pm-4pm and Sunday 9am-11am

$75 REGULAR PRICE REGISTRATION February 27- March 12 @ 11:59 PM ET
$100 LATE REGISTRATION March 13 - March 29 @ 11:59 PM ET

• Registration for each site closes on the Wednesday (11:59pm ET) prior to that respective tryout weekend. 
• There will be NO in person sign-up option at the tryout site.

$100 ALTERNATE SELECTION REGISTRATION March 13 - April 4

• If you are unable to attend one of the three tryouts you may submit an Alternate Selection which should include your hockey resume, three references, and video.
• If you are selected to the Squad, you are not eligible for Team selection until you attend a practice where coach(es) and/or selector(s) can do an in-person evaluation.

If you must renew your membership prior to registering and are having any issues, please email membership@usafieldhockey.com for help.  Please note that if you sign up for an in-person tryout site and later choose the Alternate Selection method for any reason, your registration payment will apply towards the $100 Alternate Selection fee.

TRYOUT INFO: Information relative to your trial site will be sent via email the week of your tryout. Alternate Selection Procedure info will be made available in March.
